Future Hope Africa student uses artistic talents to illustrate human need
Bienvenu, an alumni of Future Hope Africa’s educational programs, used his artistic skill to illustrate the devastation caused by the volcanic eruption near the city of Goma in the Democratic Republic of the Congo earlier this year.

A Future Hope Africa alumni is sharing his artistic talents with the world and educating people about human need at the same time.
Bienvenu is a former student who now volunteers with Future Hope Africa. He is also active in the discipleship-oriented Prince Club. He recently illustrated a volcanic event that occurred this year in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Bienvenu has shared his artwork previously, creating personalized greeting cards that helped fund his education.
His current drawing references the May 22 Mount Nyiragongo eruption in Goma, about 120 miles north of Bukavu (our home). Thousands of people were displaced and more than 5,000 homes were destroyed.

Bienvenu’s art has the effect of bringing attention to the tragedy and its human toll. Western media coverage was minimal, so his dramatic imagery serves an educational purpose motivated by human compassion.
